![]() ![]() Everyone has chores to be done each day, and nobody seems to complain about anything. When Jude moves there, is when you really find out how things are done at Kaleidoscope. Jude decides that over the holidays, he would like to see how things are done at Kaleidoscope Gardens, and follows the instructions that Hudson gives him to apply there. Hudson finally reveals to Jude about Kaleidoscope Gardens, and how they actually live there. ![]() Over the course of a few weeks, Jude and Hudson chat, and both look forward to the market where they can talk more. ![]() While at College, he would go to a farmers market, and there he met Hudson, who lives at Kaleidoscope Gardens. Jude got out of his home as soon as he was able to go to College, to escape his mother and father, who did not react well to the news that Jude was gay. I have to say I got pulled right into this book, and Kaleidoscope Gardens sounds like a wonderful place to live. This is one book that is not a sweet love story. ![]() ![]() There is a subplot with one of the archaeologists heroine addicted. She is the target – a rather far-fetched story about her first marriage, the death of her husband, subsequent threats. There are quite a number of associates, the wife of Dr Leidner and her nurse. ![]() ![]() Most of the action takes place on the archaeological dig, with a genial Dr Leidner (Ron Berglas) directing. Poirot was to meet a woman in Baghdad but she fails to turn up – leaving a final phone call for him to pay the hotel bill. Hastings had been invited to come to the dig. While there is a lot of atmosphere, details of digs, archaeological finds, investigations, translations, there is also a murder. The film was shot in Tunisia standing in well for Iraq.
